Choosing teeth whitening strips
Whitening strips are thin, flexible strips with whitening gel already applied. They sit directly on your teeth, making them a convenient option without using application trays.
Whitening strips
Peel each strip from its backing and apply it directly to your teeth. With the gel already on the strip, there is no need to measure it into a tray. Each pair provides one application for your upper and lower teeth.
Whitening gels with trays
Tray whitening uses gel dispensed from a syringe into a suitable whitening tray. It offers a choice of gel formulas and concentrations, with wear times that depend on the product and strength.

What is the difference between strips and treatments?
For Crest Professional Effects Luxe, one treatment contains two strips: one for your upper teeth and one for your lower teeth. A 5-treatment pack contains 10 strips, a 10-treatment pack contains 20 strips, and the 20-treatment box contains 40 strips.
Which Crest pack size should I choose?
The 5-treatment pack is a starting point for trying the product. The 10-treatment pack provides more applications for a sustained routine, while the sealed 20-treatment box provides the complete pack. Pack size changes the number of applications, not the product strength. The smaller packs contain individually sealed sachets supplied from a larger box.
Do whitening strips need trays?
No. Whitening strips hold the gel against your teeth directly, so you do not need separate whitening trays or syringes. Tray whitening gels are a different format and need suitable trays.
